Conditions of Use for myBupa
This page contains the Conditions of Use which apply to your access to and use of myBupa (also referred to as the 'Service') including the membership transactions you make using this service. Please read carefully through the Conditions of Use . Your use of the Service signifies your acceptance of these Conditions of Use. In these Conditions of Use, references to 'we', 'us' or 'our' are references to Bupa HI Pty Ltd (ABN 81 000 057 590) and its related bodies corporate.
1. Who can use myBupa?
myBupa is available to any person on an active membership who is aged 17 years or older. If you have suspended or cancelled your membership, you will be unable to access your myBupa account. The policy holder is the person who has legal responsibility for the membership and has primary access to transact via my Bupa. For example, the policy holder has the right to view, change, add or delete items relating to the entire membership, including claims and information pertaining to all members covered by their policy. The policy holder may grant online authority to another person on the membership who is 17 years or older. Online authority holders will have the same level of access to myBupa services as the policy holder, but will not be able to remove the policy holder from the membership or cancel the membership. Online authority only applies to transactions via myBupa. To allow another person to transact on the membership over the phone or in a retail centre, the policy holder must contact us and complete a separate authority.
2. Accuracy of information
The membership information available through myBupa may not always be up to date -- for example, Remaining Limits shown (where available) do not take into account any unprocessed claims.
3. Updating your membership information via myBupa
Changes you make to your membership via myBupa will be updated on your membership automatically and will take immediate effect. For example, if you change your address or billing details, you will immediately be bound by these changes. If you think we have made a mistake when using myBupa, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know.
4. Terms governing transactions via myBupa
Normal terms and conditions (including the Bupa Fund Rules which can be found on the Terms & Conditions page of bupa.com.au) of your membership will apply to all transactions on your membership via myBupa. All benefits are payable in accordance with the Bupa Fund Rules. If this site gives you information inconsistent with the Bupa Fund Rules, then the Bupa Fund Rules will prevail.
5. De-activation of your myBupa account
We may de-activate your myBupa account at any time without prior notice to you if: - we believe that continued use of your myBupa account may cause loss to you or to us; or - if you contravene these Conditions of Use. Also, if your membership is suspended or terminated, you will not have access to myBupa.
Members with a myBupa account must not share their myBupa password with others. Bupa accepts no responsibility for online transactions conducted on myBupa, in circumstances where access has been gained by a person who is not the relevant myBupa account holder, or who has not been properly authorised. The application, registration and self service screens of the site are protected by 2048 bit SSL encryption to help ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information passed between your browser and our server. However, you must assist in maintaining the security of your information by protecting your password and having adequate anti-virus software and firewalls installed on your computer. As conditions of using myBupa you must: - Change your password on initial access to myBupa; - Keep your password secure and protected; - Keep only one record of your password; - Keep your record of your password separate to your Membership Card; - Not share your password with others; - Not allow any unauthorised person to watch you login to the site or hear your password; and - Change your password regularly. If a person is removed from your membership, it is your responsibility to change your password, in order to maintain the privacy and security of your myBupa account. Any request by another person for access to his/her past details will be processed in accordance with the Information Handling Policy, which can be found on the Terms & Conditions page of bupa.com.au. IF SOMEONE UNAUTHORISED GAINS ACCESS TO YOUR PASSWORD OR YOU BECOME AWARE OF ANY MISUSE OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP DETAILS, PLEASE CALL US ON 134 135 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
We will handle all personal information collected, transmitted, stored or otherwise processed via the Service in accordance with our Information Handling Policy which can be found on the Terms & Conditions page of bupa.com.au.
8. General Terms and Conditions of our Website
Access to and use of this website site is provided by Bupa HI Pty Ltd (ABN 81 000 057 590) ("Bupa", "we", "us" and "our") on the conditions and any other directions or rules of use on this site ("Terms") which can be found on the Terms & Conditions page of bupa.com.au. If you access this site (other than to read these Terms for the first time), you agree to these Terms. We reserve the right to change the Terms at any time by posting changes online. You are responsible for informing yourself of any changes by regularly reviewing these pages. If you access the site after changes are posted, you are taken to have accepted all changes.
